06 May Beyond Covid-19: Global Open Innovation Challenge
This global crisis has brought unprecedented challenges, followed by aggressive action to try and mitigate their effects. We are seeing new challenges pop up around every corner, and governments are desperately trying to keep up. Around the world, we are calling on our citizens to band together and find solutions so we can emerge from the Covid-19 crisis stronger and more connected.
Some of these challenges are obvious, like the need for PPE, respirators, and other healthcare essentials. Other challenges are less apparent, such as the needs of some of our more vulnerable populations, and the network challenges of pivoting our organizations to support the virtual needs of people at home. Every challenge needs to be addressed and solutions must be found, no matter how big or small.
Prepr and it’s network of partners have started the Beyond Covid-19: Global Open Innovation Challenge initiative to tackle secondary and tertiary issues resulting from COVID-19. Working in partnership with Linux Foundation, MITACS, Grand Challenges Canada, York University | Lassonde School of Engineering, Magnet | Ryerson, MedStack, GODAN (Global Open Data Agriculture Network), Singularity University, among others, we aim to inspire new ideas that achieve meaningful and lasting solutions.
This is a call to action to every citizen, student, organization, and government to find innovative and sustainable solutions to each and every challenge. Solutions that we can carry forward with us and continue to implement long after the crisis has been managed, solutions that make us a stronger global society, better prepared for the next global crisis.
